1. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the Service:

• Account data: Email address, collected when you create an account or sign in via Firebase Authentication.
• Uploaded media: Images and videos you upload are processed solely to perform the requested analysis. They are never written to persistent storage.
• Usage data: Anonymous analytics events (page views, feature interactions) collected via PostHog to improve the product. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
• Payment data: Credit card and transaction details are processed by Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record) and are never stored on FauxLens servers. We only receive a confirmation token and transaction amount.
• Error data: Crash reports and performance metrics collected via Sentry to identify and fix bugs. No media content is included in error reports.

2. Media Retention — Zero Storage Policy

FauxLens operates on a strict Zero-Retention basis for all uploaded media. Images and videos are loaded into ephemeral memory (RAM) on our processing servers, analyzed, and then permanently discarded. They are never written to disk, never backed up, and never accessible after the analysis session ends. Analysis report metadata (scores, timestamps) may be stored temporarily for up to 14 days to support the shareable report feature, after which it is automatically purged.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to deliver the Service. Each provider is bound by its own privacy policy and data processing agreements:

• Firebase (Google LLC) — Authentication and session management.Privacy policy ↗

• Cloud GPU / Hosting providers — Media processing infrastructure. Providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and are prohibited from storing or accessing uploaded files.

4. Cookies & Advertising

We use cookies for authentication sessions and product analytics. We also use Google advertising services, which use cookies to serve relevant ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites on the Internet.

6. Data Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2+. Account credentials are managed entirely by Firebase Authentication and never stored in plain text by FauxLens. Given our Zero-Retention architecture, there is no persistent media database to breach.

7. Children's Privacy

FauxLens is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
